FAQs on One-Time Headhunts
What is a One-Time Headhunt?
We run a "White Glove" recruiting process to find you an incredible full-time international team member who fits your specific requirements.You only pay if we successfully find you the right candidate.Great if you want to try us and our recruiting out before potentially becoming a Sagan Passport member.
What do you charge to find me a hire?
We charge a fully refundable $500 deposit to start your search. Only if you successfully hire, you'll pay us a one-time headhunt fee. There are no additional fees or costs.
Are there ongoing fees?
No. Unlike other companies that charge ongoing fees, we only require a one-time payment for each successful hire.
Are these my team members?
Yes. We recruit full-time, dedicated team members who work exclusively for your business, like any other team member.
What if my hire doesn't work out?
If your new hire doesn't work out within 90 days of placement, let us know and we'll re-run the headhunt to replace them for free. Or we can apply your fee toward a different headhunt, at your option.
How do I develop a job description, job title, compensation target, etc. for labor markets I don't know?
Our in-house recruiters work 1:1 with you to craft a job description, job title, compensation range, and search strategy to attract the strongest candidates for your needs and budget.
How does the headhunting process work?
You're busy or you wouldn't be hiring. Our process is designed for efficiency.1) You tell us what you're looking for and pay a fully refundable deposit.2) Our team of internal recruiters builds the job description and launches a comprehensive search.3) Candidates are evaluated against technical requirements, for written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.4) We present you with a shortlist of candidates we believe you'll love.5) You interview the finalists and hire your favorite (or we present additional candidates as desired).
How long does this take?
We're fast!Our recruiters have great reputations and deep networks in every region where we recruit.For many roles, we can present you with finalists in just a few days.But we generally tell customers to expect a shortlist of candidates to interview within 2 weeks.
Where do you find talent?
We recruit globally, based on role and other requirements.Lately we've found that Latin America offers a great combination of cost, skill, and written & spoken English, as well as intangibles like enthusiasm and culture fit.But our recruiters are always monitoring the shifting talent environment across the world.
How do you find talent?
It's different in every country.In some places, we have full time on-the-ground recruiters.In others, we have access to niche career communities.And in still others, we have exclusive partnerships with social media influencers.We're also constantly receiving great referrals from candidates we've placed, thanks to our reputation with both our customers and the talent we recruit.
I need customer-facing talent.Can you find people who speak clearly and can relate to US customers over phone, text, zoom, etc?How about bilingual candidates?
Yes!Global Talent can perform just about any job US talent would, including calling, texting, and conducting video meetings with both business and consumer customers.For example, meet Pauline, a customer concierge based in Kenya. And meet Josselyn, based in Argentina.(You get the idea.)As long as the job doesn't require physical co-location with a customer, we can likely find you an outstanding team member who will excel at it.And as a nice bonus, most people we recruit speak multiple languages - bilingual English-Spanish, for example. It's also something you can specifically request.
I'm in industry ABC and need people for function XYZ. Can I use Global Talent in my business?
Almost certainly, yes.And sharing these possibilities with your fellow Sagan Passport members is a lot of what membership is for. Will my Global Talent work my business hours / in my timezone?
Yes. That is the usual expectation, but it's entirely up to you.Working hours are part of the job description and recruiting details we'll review upfront with you.
How do you guarantee the quality & reliability of candidates?
Simple! This is a fully contingent fee. If you decide not to hire the candidates, we don’t make any money, and we can return 100% of your deposit.
How do I pay overseas team members?
There are many easy options. Wise is what we usually use. Payoneer & Remitly are also great.Optionally, we can handle it for you, for a small monthly fee (which is further reduced for Sagan Passport members).
What about phone, messaging, security, etc?
It's super easy to set up phones (with your desired area code), texting, VPNs, and more.Your overseas colleagues can and should be embedded in your org the same as any team member, and that extends to how you communicate.We can point you to resources we recommend.For members, we go into these topics in much greater depth, share our own setup, and offer advice to get everything functioning smoothly. But it's easy enough to get this all set yourself.
Do you have an example of a contract I should sign with them?
Yes! Contact your project manager and they’ll send you one. We aren’t lawyers, so you'll need to do your own research, but we can certainly get you started.Sagan Passport members get even more resources around best practices for contracts, NDAs, etc.

What’s the difference between the "Candidate Pool" and working on-demand with your recruiters?
Candidate PoolWhere we put the high quality candidates we screen and interview each month - without having a specific position or company for them.Generally speaking we are “always screening & interviewing” for popular positions like executive assistants, customer service representatives, and bookkeepers.When we get someone great, we put their profile & contact details into our “candidate pool” and our members can reach out to them directly to interview/make a job offer at no extra cost.Obviously, once they’ve been hired they aren’t available anymore.On-Demand Recruitment (Headhunts)Our membership-based, on-demand headhunting is for when our members want something specific, not found in our candidate pool.Our members are assigned a dedicated recruiter, who can help craft a job description that meets the member’s needs - for example, a customer service representative who has experience with a particularly rare piece of software.A candidate like that probably won’t be found in our candidate pool, but our recruiters can likely hunt one down!
